Our Club
The Daylesford & Hepburn United Soccer Club (DHUSC) was founded in 1986 and joined the Ballarat and District Soccer League (BDSA), competing in numerous divisions ranging from Under 8s to the Men’s Senior Division. The club briefly played in the Bendigo league in 1993 before returning to Ballarat in 1994.
The club is 100% not-for-profit and is run entirely by a team of dedicated volunteers. DHUSC has strong grassroots connections with the Daylesford and Hepburn communities and aims to provide a welcoming and diverse environment for people of all abilities to play the world game of soccer.
DHUSC has seen significant growth and support for juniors over the past five years, registering over 150 players in the 2022 season alone—including 40 female players. That growth has continued, with more than 180 players registered in 2024, including 75 female participants, reflecting the club’s strong commitment to inclusivity and development at all levels.
The club has enjoyed great success since its beginnings, with notable achievements in the Men’s Senior Division, including league titles in 1994, 1996 (both league and reserves), 1999, and 2001, along with Champions Cup victories in 1999 and 2001. Finals appearances in 2016 and 2018 reaffirm the squad's consistent presence in the top tier of the BDSA competition.
One of the club’s standout achievements came in 2019, when the Open Senior Division 1 team claimed both the League title and the Grand Final, capping off a dominant season. Owen Turbitt played a key role, earning both the League Best & Fairest Medal and Player of the Final, highlighting the quality of talent within the squad.
Junior success has also been a proud part of DHUSC’s story. The club won its first junior League and Cup double in 2018 with the Division 2 U13s and added another League title in 2022 with the U12s. These milestones reflect the club’s strong focus on youth development and long-term sustainability.
